Terms of service
Effective 14 August 2026
These terms govern use of the hosted service operated by TranslateSimple. By creating an account, connecting a WordPress site, or requesting a hosted translation, you agree to them. The open-source WordPress plugin is also distributed under the GPLv2-or-later license included with the plugin.
1. The service
TranslateSimple connects a WordPress administrator to hosted account, billing, quota, and machine-translation services. Machine translations are produced through Microsoft Azure Translator or DeepL. Supported final translations and manual edits are stored in the customer’s WordPress database and continue rendering when the hosted service is unavailable.
2. Accounts and site access
You are responsible for using an email address you control, protecting access to your mailbox and WordPress administration, and disconnecting a site you no longer control. You must provide accurate information and may not use the service to access another person’s site or account without authorization.
3. Customer content
You keep ownership of the content and translations stored in WordPress. You authorize TranslateSimple and its selected translation provider to process only the source segments you explicitly submit for the purpose of producing translations. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to submit that content and for reviewing translated output before publication.
4. Plans, trials, and billing
Hosted machine translation may be subject to a trial allowance, an active paid subscription, and a character quota. The current price, billing interval, taxes, and renewal details are shown before payment in Stripe Checkout. Paid subscriptions renew until canceled through the customer billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; access and quotas remain governed by the billing status shown in the customer portal. Stopping payment does not remove translations already stored in WordPress.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use TranslateSimple unlawfully, interfere with the service, bypass usage or security controls, probe another customer’s data, submit malicious content, or use the service in a way that violates provider terms. We may limit or suspend hosted access when reasonably necessary to protect customers, providers, or the service.
6. Third-party services
TranslateSimple relies on Stripe for billing and on Microsoft Azure Translator or DeepL for machine translation. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy notices. Availability, language support, and translation quality may therefore change outside TranslateSimple’s control.
7. Availability and translated output
The service is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis without a guaranteed service level for this V1. Machine translation can contain mistakes and is not a substitute for professional, legal, medical, or other specialist review. To the extent permitted by applicable law, TranslateSimple is not responsible for decisions made solely from unreviewed machine-translated output.
8. Ending use
You may disconnect sites, cancel billing, export service-account metadata, and request account deletion from the customer portal. TranslateSimple may end hosted access for material abuse or legal necessity. Local translations remain in WordPress unless a WordPress administrator deliberately removes them.
9. Changes and contact
These terms may change as the service evolves. Material changes will be dated on this page. Questions may be submitted through the support form.
